Hillsong Church pastor Carl Lentz has denied the claims made by American rapper Post Malone about Canadian pop star Justin Bieber turning "real culty" and donating $10 million to the megachurch.

In a Rolling Stone profile, Malone lamented his friend Bieber's alleged transformation to a "super-religious" person who allegedly donated $10 million to Hillsong Church, and said the house of worship already had a "gold roof."
Lentz refuted the rapper's claims and said there was no truth to the report that the pop star shelled out millions for the megachurch.
"I do not know Post Malone, and I have no idea why he would say reckless things about our church, which he has never visited," Lentz told Rolling Stone. "Justin has not given our church $10 million, and we do not have gold ceilings. We do not even own a church building. So that gives you a little insight about how serious you can take his observations about anything to do with us."
Nevertheless, Pastor Lentz still wished Malone the best. He said he was still a fan of the rapper, whom he described as a "very gifted artist."
In an interview with Us Weekly published last month, Lentz described how Bieber had changed in the last few months. The megachurch leader said the singer had a very deep relationship with Jesus and credits God for that transformation, saying his personal teachings had nothing to do with it.
In addition, Pastor Lentz explained that Bieber has dedicated himself to a Christian life and not to Hillsong Church. Addressing the question about the singer's "rededication" to faith, he said Bieber simply was on a journey and that he has now progressed to where he is right now in his Christian walk. The megachurch pastor added that the world may see it as a rededication, but everyone goes through the same process.
