It takes a lot to get me out of my nice warm bed and away from Vogue at midnight. A lot. So off I went on a promise of good entertainment and naked ladies on a thursday last week. Wandering down Leeson street at half 11 dressed in my finest carrying my bag like a weapon.I eventually arrived at the sugar club.
I hadn't ever been before. I had heard that some amazing burlesque happens inside the club. But while my intentions had always been to go and check it out, I never had.
The midnight burlectro I had been promised, turned out to be amazing. Anything that combines, burlesque, amazing costumes, fire, hot girl on guitar, the cure and people in top hats usually turns out well. But this was one of the best burlesque nights I had ever been to.
The sugar club moving to Dublin left a massive audience behind and a larger more awkward burlesque hole to fill. (ahem) I was curious to see what would happen and if it would be any good. Compared to the tassel club. it's totally different. But what they are doing works well. So not sure when this is on again. But if you are free on a random thursday at 12, you could be doing a lot worse then the sugar club on leeson street at 12.
